Saves Gas On The Road And Cash In Your Wallet
By
building a car with a higher safety rating, we help you save on
insurance. As a winner of a 2012 ALG Residual Value Award, the Elantra
sedan has the highest projected residual value in its class. And with
the backing of America's Best Warranty™, you'll save even more in the long run. Want to learn more about everything we do to save you money and deliver more value?
Go Farther With An EPA-estimated 38 MPG Highway2
With
a highly efficient 4-cylinder engine, a more responsive 6-speed
transmission, and the most aerodynamic body in its class, the Elantra
sedan can take you farther on less fuel.
The new Hyundai Elantra sports
a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine with Hyundai’s D-CVVT system
(Dual-Continuously Variable Valve Timing) which varies valve timing on
both the inlet and exhaust valves, driven by separate camshafts. This allows Hyundai
engineers to tune the engine for relatively high power output, without
compromising efficiency and emissions. This engine comes mated to a
6-speed manual gearbox, or a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual
over-ride, dubbed Shiftronic.
1.8 Liters + 4 Cylinders = Performance
You'll
be impressed by a responsive 1.8-liter engine that features Dual
Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) which improves breathing on
the intake, and exhaust camshafts to help lower emissions and provide
better fuel economy—up to an EPA-estimated 38 MPG Highway2.
Advanced 6-speed Automatic Transmission
The sophisticated technology in the Elantra sedan's available 6-speed SHIFTRONIC®
transmission improves durability and reduces weight. So you can enjoy
better fuel efficiency with smoother acceleration on the highway. And a
healthy balance of power and comfort for navigating in-town traffic.
There’s
also the option of Hyundai’s new 1.6-litre CRDi diesel, which does duty
in the new Verna, launched recently. This engine would work well with New Hyundai Elantra as well, helping Hyundai achieve better economies of scale. A diesel engine with an automatic transmission would also help the New Hyundai Elantra compete with the Chevy Cruze, which has enjoyed a strong monopoly as the only diesel automatic in this class.
