The 2013 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 follows the legacy left by
its predecessor. This year's model comes with a more powerful engine and
more durable moving parts. At the same time, the aerodynamics went
through a redesign process for improved downforce.
All around, the GTR Nismo GT3 is as balanced a racing vehicle as
there is, from power to braking, to styling to the interior, you won’t
be disappointed.

Engine
The engine is the main attraction. The 2013 Nismo comes with a 3.8 liter turbocharged V6 engine that generates 543 HP at 6500 rpm, producing 470 lb-ft @ 5000 of torque. With its camshaft upgraded, the performance of the car outperforms its predecessor. It uses a 6 speed sequential gearbox and a semi-automatic pneumatic paddle.
Performance
The Nismo comes with better aerodynamics that help improved the downforce effect, ensuring maximum tire to road contact while cornering. Its stability on the road is also backed up by state Brembo braking system.
Exterior
The new Nismo borrows several design elements from the base GT-R series with a few improvements here and there for a more aggressive look. Inspired by the base GT-R, the rear still uses a carbon fiber spoiler, front carbon fiber grille. It resembles the base series but has more of an attitude.
Interior
What do you expect from the interior of a race car. The carbon fiber dashboard hosts a minimalistic HID. The driver's seat and doors are surrounded by reinforced roll bars. As expected there isn't much to brag about the interior except the safety features.
Nissan did not come with a replacement for the previous model but with an upgraded version. The hood hides a powerful engine backed up by an improved drivetrain and camshaft. Handling is also worth mentioning since the car performs flawlessly on a race track.
The 2013 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 outperformed its predecessor. The GT3 will be only be available by special order. Because it is a race car, it cannot be driven on public streets.
YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motorsports International Co.,
Ltd. (Nismo) is pleased to announce the official release of a Nissan
GT-R (R35) that conforms to FIA GT3 regulations: the 2013 Model, Nissan
GT-R Nismo GT3.
The 2012 model, Nissan GT-R Nismo
GT3, which debuted this March, has brought back race victories from
across the globe. Entered by NDDP RACING (Nismo) as well as customer
racing teams, the GT-3 has outperformed the competition at this year’s
SUPER GT series (GT 300 class), Super Taikyu (GT3 class), British GT
Championship and GT Cup. Nismo has developed the 2013 Nissan GT-R Nismo
GT3 using all the valuable data brought back from these races, in
addition to the dyno, track tests, and customer feedback, to enhance its
competitiveness and performance. Most significant improvements were
made to the following crucial points:
- Engine performance & durability
- Aerodynamic performance
- Brake balance
- Suspension setting to suit new aerodynamics package
- Gear ratio to optimize engine output increase
Engine is the biggest contribution to performance
enhancement, which includes new camshaft timing. Moving parts of the
engine were also reinforced to guarantee durability. Several
modifications were made to enhance aerodynamics: canards were added to
the front and the front fender louvers were enlarged. The positioning of
the rear wing was optimized. These changes improve aerodynamic balance
between front and rear, and increased downforce, which enhanced overall
aerodynamic performance.
The 2013 model, Nissan GT-R
Nismo GT3 is manufactured on demand. Orders will be accepted from
November 13, 2012 on. Should the number of orders exceed production
capacity, Nismo retains the right to make final decisions on order
fulfillment.
Nismo is currently preparing an update kit for the 2012 model, Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3.
